Forest of Avon Tree Dedication Scheme.. ..the gift that grows

For details of how to dedicate a tree, click here

Dedicating a tree is a unique gift that will help create greener and healthier places for people to enjoy now and in the future.

There are many reasons to dedicate – to celebrate the birth of a baby, a birthday or anniversary, or in memory of a loved one. It’s also an unusual gift for a Wedding, Valentine’s Day, Christmas or New Year. New planting at Wheat Hill Farm

For each dedication you will receive:
  • A Certificate of Tree Dedication showing the recipient’s name and a special message from you.
  • Information on the woodland where your dedicated trees are growing.
  • The recipient’s name and special message recorded in our Book of Tree Dedication.

Your tree dedication can be sent directly to the recipient if you wish.

There are currently three Tree Dedication sites – Manor Road Community Woodland, Keynsham, Overscourt Wood, Siston and Oke Park Wood, Bristol. You can specify at which site you would like to make your dedication on the downloadable order form.

Whatever your reasons to dedicate a tree, your support will help to care for the young trees, improve the new woodland sites for public access and wildlife and support the work of the Forest of Avon.

The Tree Dedication Scheme is also part of our work on climate change. By dedicating a tree you help maintain and improve new woodlands and support the Forest of Avon’s work to provide local people with opportunities to live healthier, lower carbon lifestyles.

FAQs

Can I visit the woodlands?
Yes. All the Tree Dedication sites are new community woodlands and have full, free public access, so you are welcome to visit at any time.

What will my money be used for?
Your money will go towards managing and improving your specified dedication woodland site for public access and wildlife and to support the wider work of the Forest of Avon in improving the environment and quality of life for local people.

Will trees be identified in any way?
The process of creating new woodlands means that over time the number of trees will be reduced naturally or by thinning as the trees grow and the woodland matures. As a result, trees are not identified in any way. Our aim is to create new community woodlands that will be healthy and vibrant places for people and wildlife for years to come. So, you are not just dedicating a tree, but contributing to the creation of a whole new woodland!

Does my dedication pay for a tree to be planted?
No. All the tree dedication sites are recently planted woodlands. New trees are only planted as part of on-going site management and maintenance. The aim of the Scheme is to give the opportunity to make a dedication, develop closer links between people and the tree dedication woodlands, contribute to their management / improvement and support the wider work of the Forest of Avon.
